Warners Complete 7 Hills Challenge for Charity

Last weekend the Warners team took a brief break from assisting those buying or selling homes in Edinburgh and the Lothians to help raise money for Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC). The team of over 30 volunteers rose early on Saturday morning, strapped on their walking boots (or in one case a pair of ill-advised Crocs!), and set off to tackle the seven hills challenge around Edinburgh.

Setting off a little before 8am on Saturday, the team met at the foot of Arthur’s Seat, the tallest of the seven hills. After tackling that challenge they went on to conquer Calton Hill, the Castle Esplanade, Corstorphine Hill, Craiglockhart Hill, Blackford Hill, and finally the Braids. Although the weather took a turn for the worse as the day progressed, spirits remained high and the team completed the challenge atop the Braids where they celebrated with a well-earned bottle of fizz.

Talking about the team’s efforts after the challenge Nicole Edwards, New Business & Marketing Manager with Warners, said: “There were quite a few sore feet by the end of the walk but after a glass of something refreshing everyone perked up quickly. I’ve no doubt that there were some stiff legs on Sunday but we’re all absolutely delighted with the money raised for a fabulous cause and how generous everyone was with their donations.”

In total, over £4,200 was raised for ECHC, including a donation of £1,000 from the Partners at Warners.

You can relive the day’s events here, and any last minute donations are still welcome via the team’s Just Giving page.
