ESPC Helps to Raise Over £6,000 for Local Children's Charity

Last month we looked at the work being done by the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) as they gear up for the hospital’s big move from Sciennes to Little France early next year.

It’s a mind-boggling challenge that they face and the charity’s work has been invaluable both in raising funds for the new premises and helping to support the children and families who have to call upon the hospital’s services.

Warners are proud members of ESPC – east central Scotland’s leading property marketing company – and over the last 12 months they have been partnering up with ECHC to help with their fundraising efforts.

As well as hosting a fantastically successful (if occasionally less than sober) charity quiz night and Winter Ball, ESPC’s staff have been getting involved in a number of different ways over the course of the year to help raise funds for the charity. Just last month a team of five took part in the Edinburgh Marathon. One ‘lucky’ team member drew the short straw and ran the full distance while the other four, including ESPC’s chief executive Paul Hilton, took part in the Hairy Haggis Relay.

Over the course of the year, ESPC helped to raise over £6,000. Much of this will go towards helping to fund the Day Case waiting room at the new hospital in Little France, while also helping ECHC to continue to provide the amazing work they do to support families – from providing a bed for the night for parents when their children are in hospital, to allowing the kids to go on virtual tours to Machu Picchu and the International Space Station thanks to some nifty Google headsets.

In the coming weeks we’ll be putting our thinking caps on at Warners to see what we can do to help support this amazing charity as they get ready for their big move.

In the meantime if you want more information on Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and to find out how you can get involved, you can visit them here.
