Warners Staff Get Their MoonWalking Boots On For Charity

This weekend in the early hours of Sunday morning, an intrepid group of Warners staff will be donning their finest pink caps and Walking the Walk from Holyrood Park, as they take part in the MoonWalk Scotland.

Setting off from Holyrood Park at midnight on Saturday, 9th June, Angela McFarlane, David Marshall, Ellen McWhirter, Emma Meechan, Holly Lewis, Louise Smith and Rae Martin will be marching for 13.1 miles to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer causes.

The Partners at Warners have very kindly agreed to donate the £350 entrance fees for the budding moonwalkers and the team has already raised more than £1,500 on top of that, thanks to generous donations from friends, family, clients and colleagues. By the time the challenge is completed the team is hoping to have raised over £2,000 in total for the fantastic charity.

Talking about the upcoming event Louise Smith, Sales Negotiator with Warners said: “We’re all really looking forward to the event now and the money raised is going towards a really good cause. Going for a 13 mile walk in the wee small hours of the morning while wearing a variety of bright pink garments will be no small feat, but I’m sure the team will be able to keep each others spirits up and see us over the finish line.”

David Marshall, Operations Director added: “This year the men taking part in the MoonWalk will be getting special pink t-shirts with a blue bra to help raise awareness of the fact that breast cancer can also affect men. It’s something which most people don’t know about and, given how important early detection is, it’s fantastic to see awareness being raised here. It should be a great night and we're all really looking forward to taking part.”
