Warners React to ESPC's Q3 House Price Report
In response to the publication of the ESPC Quarter 3 House Price report, Scott Brown, Consultant with Warners Solicitors & Estate Agents, said:
“The latest report from ESPC will be very welcome news to everyone with an interest in the property market in the Edinburgh and the Lothians – in particular those selling their homes.
“The surge in sales is consistent with our own figures which show a year-on-year rise of nearly 30%.
“Quite simply, after years of sluggish activity, people are coming back onto the property market in high numbers.
“The interest in sales of one and two bedroom flats is also a hugely positive indicator as it means that first time buyers are being able to buy again - which means that the property ladder is re-energised with people selling entry-level properties moving up while those at mid-level also in turn look to move up.
“And while we have many more closing dates and quicker sales, I am actually pleased that house price growth has remained modest.
“It is vital that the property market remains buoyant and that any price rises are sustainable.”
