Selling Properties Proactively But Responsibly. How Warners Is Helping Sellers.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown have created an unprecedented situation in the housing market and beyond.

In response to this some estate agents have unfortunately become unable to continue trading normally. Others have decided to cease responding to viewing enquiries from potential buyers for the properties that they have on the market, instead telling sellers that they are going into hibernation until things start to return to normal. Whether they have done this through choice or necessity, the end result is that many sellers have been left in limbo.

At Warners we have taken a different approach. Instead of pulling down this shutters and waiting for brighter days, we’ve become even more proactive, employing technology to allow our team to keep working for sellers, and allowing buyers to safely view our clients’ properties.

As a result, we’ve been able to agree offers on a number of properties that we have for sale. At time of writing on Friday 10 April, we’ve put five properties under offer this week and set another two closing dates. Things are much quieter than you would normally expect at this time of year but there are still buyers out there.

A Proactive Approach to Selling

Warners is now facilitating virtual viewings wherever possible allowing buyers to view our clients’ properties from the comfort and safety of their own home. When potential buyers get in touch about viewing one of the properties that we are marketing, we liaise with both parties to arrange a mutually convenient time for the seller to show the viewer around the property via FaceTime, WhatsApp or Zoom.

If someone requests a copy of the Home Report for one of the properties that we are marketing, our estate agency team will get in touch with them to see if they would be interested in a virtual viewing so that the properties that we are marketing continue to be seen by as many buyers as possible.

Already we have received a number of offers from buyers who viewed properties virtually allowing sellers to get their property under offer.

We are also offering sellers 360 degree video tours of their properties where it is safe for these to be carried out. Again, this enables more buyers to see our clients’ properties, maximising their chance of receiving a good offer even under the unprecedented conditions that we are all facing.
